Cliff Laine, Vice President – Investments, is a Financial Advisor who has served individuals, small-, and medium-sized businesses with retirement planning for nearly 15 years. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University. Prior to joining Benjamin F. Edwards., Cliff served as an Investment Advisor Representative with ABG Retirement Plan Investment Services. Prior to ABG, Cliff served as a wealth-management financial advisor for Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.
Cliff holds the Series 7, 65, and 63 securities registrations. Additionally, Cliff completed a course at the UCLA Luskin School of Management to earn his C(k)P designation.
Cliff is eager to help clients with planning for educational costs for a child, preparing for retirement, or passing wealth to the next generation. He has the knowledge and perspective to implement financial strategies that will help clients move smoothly through life’s transitions. If you’re a small- to medium-sized business owner, he has extensive experience in helping employees save for retirement while protecting the business from liability.
Cliff is active within the central Illinois community serving on the Board of Directors for several non-profit agencies. He is also active with the Heart of Illinois United Way serving as a member of the Solutions Council and the Financial Audit Committee. He also volunteers his time with Generation United and was recognized as the Volunteer of the Year in 2016. Cliff is a graduate of the 2014 Peoria Chamber of Commerce Community Leadership School. Cliff was honored with the H.J. Gibson, Jr. Service Award from the Heart of Illinois United Way in 2014 and was also selected as a member of the Interbusiness Issues 40 Leaders Under 40 Class of 2014. Cliff enjoys spending time with his Little Brother Malyk in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, where he has volunteered since 2011. He has also served as an advisor and trustee for the Matthew Thomas Stevenson Scholarship Trust since 2010. Every August, Cliff combines his passion for community involvement with a passion for physical fitness as he runs from St. Louis to Peoria to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. For his business and philanthropic leadership efforts, he was honored by the Creve Coeur Club with the Nova Award as the area’s rising star in 2018. In 2019, the W.D. Boyce Council recognized Cliff as the Outstanding Eagle Scout of the year.
In his spare time, Cliff spends time with his wife, Anne, and his two dogs, Marlin and Bonnie.
