Mr. Medart joined our Board of Directors in 2008. He is a graduate of Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business with a minor in History. He received his M.B.A. in Finance from St. Louis University in 1982. Mr. Medart currently is, and for more than 25 years has been, President and Chief Executive Officer of Medart Inc., a third generation, 110-year-old family owned and operated business that provides distribution and technical services for two industries: turf and industrial commercial engines and recreational marine products.
He is a current member of Young Presidents Organization (YPO-Gold), a leadership organization of chief executives from around the world; a former Board Member of the NAW Institute for Distribution Excellence; and both a past Board Member and Chairman of the National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors (NAW), based in Washington DC.
He is an Advisory Board Member of UMB Bank-St. Louis (an affiliate of UMB Financial Corp), and a Board Member and Chairman of The Chaifetz School of Business Executive Board at Saint Louis University. He is a past President of both the National Marine Distributors Association (NMDA) and the Outdoor Power Equipment and Engine Service Association (OPEESA).
He resides in Saint Louis with his wife Susan of 34 years. They have three adult children: Griffin (daughter-in-law Allyson); Mason (daughter-in-law Ashlee); Hayden; and 2 grandchildren George and Thomas.
